News Spotlight:

2020 Mid-America Mane Event Horse Show

Mid-America Horse Show Association will host the Mane Event Horse Show, October 15 -18 at the Coliseum of Champions, Illinois State Fairgrounds, Springfield, Illinois.  Our Judges for Mane Event are Lisa Hillmer of Kearney, Missouri,  Renee Lavery of Simpsonville, Kentucky and Evan Orr of Kernersville, North Carolina.​A full schedule of Performance, Pleasure, Equitation and Open Breed classes will be offered. Mane Event is a Double-Points Show for our members’ annual High Point Awards. In accordance with the current USEF COVID-19 Protocols, the Prize List for Mane Event as well as supporting information is available on our Mane Event Horse Show Page.


In addition to being the proud owner and host of The Good Hands Finals held annually at Mane Event, we are honored to have been selected to host the 2020 ASHA National Regional Select Series Championships for Region 5/6. The mission of the ASHA National Select Series, presented by State Line Tack,  is to encourage more people to show American Saddlebreds and strengthen the show horse market by providing classes where horses of the same relative level can compete against one another.  Please click on the Mane Event Horse Show for complete information regarding the Select Series Championships.



Class #41  Saddle Seat Equitation USEF Adult Medal has been moved from Friday Matinee to Saturday Matinee.  The new class # 76A

Class #40A  Pleasure Walk/Trot 12 & Under  Friday Matinee 


Class #43A  Hackney Pony Showmanship In-Hand AHHS Youth Medallion  Friday Matinee


Class #108A  Pleasure Walk/Trot 12 & Under Championship  Sunday Matinee


Class #95A – Park Pleasure Junior/Limit Horse Championship – Saturday Evening

Please Note: The entry form and Check List state a current coggins test is necessary within the last six months.  Illinois law requires a current coggins test  within the last 12 months.

To camp at the fairgrounds:


You may check in directly at the campgrounds when you arrive at the fairgrounds.  Their host works 11:30 AM to 9 PM, Tuesday through Saturday.  The host will assign you a camping space.


If you are arriving after these hours, you may call Security at 217-725-0120 and receive a location.


Security is available 24 hours seven days a week.

We’re all ages, from beginning riders in walk-and-trot to junior exhibitors, to adults showing in masters classes…we ride and drive Saddlebreds, Hackneys and Roadsters in a sport that can be enjoyed for a lifetime. And make friends for a lifetime.
