Carole Bart Scholarship

Introducing our Carole Bart Scholarship

The Mid-America Horse Show Association is pleased to offer a scholarship recognizing members of the
Association with the special Mid-America Horse Show Association Carole Bart Memorial Scholarship.
This scholarship opportunity is made possible through the generous gift of Judge Ron Bartkowicz, in
loving memory of his wife Carole.

This scholarship, in the amount of $3,000, will be awarded each year to promote involvement in MAHSA
and a commitment to equine sportsmanship. Eligible applicants must be a MAHSA member, high school
senior or older. The scholarships will be paid to the educational institution of the winner’s choice in the
first semester following the awarding of the scholarship.

Eligibility/Application Documents

The applicant must have an individual membership in MAHSA, or a be a member of a MAHSA family membership. High school senior or older.
The applicant must submit a completed Application Form providing two character references.
The applicant must submit a letter of recommendation from a teacher or professor.
The applicant must submit a brief (500 words or less) biography including goals for the future.
Applications must be postmarked on or before June 3, 2024. Applications and letters postmarked
after that date will not be eligible.

Application Requirements

The applicant must be planning to attend a college or university in the year of application and must meet all the entrance requirements for the school of their choice.
Applications must be received by June 3, 2024. A select committee will review all applications submitted for consideration.

The Scholarship Recipient will be notified in mid-July, 2024 and will be invited to attend the Mane Event Horse Show to participate in awarding the Championship Trophy to the winner of the Carole Bart Memorial Show Pleasure Five-Gaited Adult Championship class.

Upon notification of the award, the student will provide to the Committee a confirmation of college acceptance. Scholarships will be paid in the name of the school upon enrollment for the following fall semester. Recipients must inform MAHSA how the school wants this check made out. Applications will not be considered unless all items are submitted.
