Youth Award Program
Introducing our Youth Award Program
For both exhibitors, non-exhibitors and youth groups
Mid-America Horse Show Association is proud to announce our Youth Award Program designed to encourage collaboration and active participation by the youth in our association. The program based on accumulating points for a variety of activities will award medals at the end of the year for youth participants who complete a variety of fun and educational activities related to the horse show industry.
How can I participate?
Our Youth Award Program is open to all youth riders, not just those currently competing at horse shows. Our award activities can be done at any American Saddlebred barn or horse show, and can be done with a friend.
Participating in the program is easy! Just become either a competing member (Junior, Academy or Family membership) or a non-competing member (Youth award program membership). Click HERE for more information on Mid-America membership.
Once you are a member you can start earning points toward your year-end award.
How do I accumulate points?
Participants are responsible for keeping track of their activities. Points are awarded based on the activity. Some of the activities include: (Click HERE to see what you need to do to earn points)
Volunteer hours (helping out at your barn, equine therapy program, horse shows, sharing the American Saddlebred, etc)
Horse Care (worksheet of 10 designated tasks)
Video/Photo demonstration (explain how to complete a horse related task)
